Game 16: Raptors at Celtics!

A Horde Of Hungry Dinos!

  • Raptors hoping to get back on the winning track after a tough loss at the buzzer to the Pistons on Wednesday night. Celtics looking for some game 2 revenge as Toronto was the victor the last time these two teams squared off
  • Serge Ibaka, CJ Miles, Norman Powell all sat out the game on Wednesday and Danny Green left with back tightness. Ibaka and Green are back in the line up, no word on Miles, but Powell is expected to miss significant time.
  • Marcus Morris who was questionable with an illness has been upgraded to probable, which is good news for Boston fans as he has been playing quite well as of late

The Byrds - "Boston"

Boston is another one of those locations where there are countless choices for Raptor Track songs. This one comes from a very prolific group of the 60's. The Byrds.

Tonight's Game Day Drink!

Boston Bay "Great White" Sauvignon Blanc

It's Friday night. It's game time. It's Raptors/Celtics 2 heated rivals, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy a classy drink. Boston Bay Winery is actually located in Australia, their "Great White" won the silver medal in 2009 for Best Wine to pair with Oysters. Something Massechusetts knows very well

Game 2: Celtics at Raptors!

Beasts of the East!

  • Due to technical difficulties I couldn't do an Opening Night post. Forgiveness please. Tonight's game though should be just as hype
  • This could be an Eastern Conference Finals preview, Boston and Toronto are slated to be 2 of the top teams in the East this year with Philly, Indiana and Milwaukee biting at their heels
  • Raptors defeated the Cavaliers 116-104 with Kawhi Leonard earning a double-double.
  • Boston haven't changed too much since last year, Gordon Hayward has returned from his injury getting 10 points and 5 rebounds in his first game in over a year
Tonight's Raptor Track!

Drake - "Nice For What"

I was thinking about doing a Boston-themed tuned, but godammit this is basically the first post since last year's playoffs! LETS DO THIS!! GET PUMPED!!! Drake is the Raptors and the Raptors are Drake. Raptors are Canadian, but ain't gotta be nice. Nice For What?

Tonight's Game Day Drink!

White Russian

What's that you say? How about a Kawhi-te Russian??? Ah who cares....drink whatever you want

Game 12: Raptors at Celtics!

Raptors finished their homestand strong after taking care of the Pelicans and the Bulls. Now it's off to Boston to face the top team in the East. Let's see what it will take for the Raptors to find success against the Celtics!

  • Quite a few changes have taken place in Boston before the Raps have even had a chance to see them. First of all Gordon Hayward signed in Boston over the Summer, and Kyrie Irving was traded to Boston from Cleveland for Isaiah Thomas and Jae Crowder.
  • I think we all know what happened to Hayward in his first game with Boston. He suffered a horrific ankle injury and is out indefinitely. Kyrie suffered a concussion after an errant elbow from Aron Baynes and is likely not playing tonight.
  • Raptors are at full strength but will need every ounce of it take on the streaking Celtics and end their 10 game win stretch
Today's Raptor Track!

Dermot Kennedy - "Boston"

It's got a Josh Ritter, Damien Rice singer/songwriter vibe. Don't know alot about him, but it's a decent enough track! Check it out

Today's Game Day Drink!

Samuel Adams

Obviously. Maybe a little too obvious. Ah well. It's the flagship beer of the Boston Beer Company. Gotta have it when you're anywhere in New England!

Game 35: Jazz at Raptors!

Thank EFF that road trip is gone and behind us. Sure the Raptors split it even at 3 wins and 3 losses, it's just that were some brutal and lethargic play out of most of the players. Hopefully some home cookin' is just what the doctor ordered as the Utah Jazz are in Toronto

  • Dwane Casey was named Eastern Conference Coach of the Month for December! It's well deserved as he Raptors went 10-4 and showed some grit and grind down the stretch
  • Patrick Patterson remains sidelined with a knee injury. He's been sorely missed as he brings communication on defense, energy on the boards and another 3 point threat for the Raptors. Jakob Poeltl continues to get playing time in his absence.
  • Only George Hill so far is listed out for The Jazz as he is going day-to-day with a concussion. Dante Exum, who didn't play in these 2 teams first meeting, will likely get the start

Tonight's Raptor Track!

A Tribe Called Quest - "Jazz (We've got) Buggin' Out"

I'm pretty sure thats what this song is titled. Ah well, it's a classic from Q-Tip and the boys in A Tribe Called Quest. They recently reunited on Saturday Night Live when Dave Chappelle was hosting, but it was only Q-Tip & Ali Shaheed Muhammad as Phife Dawg passed away due to diabetes last March. They dedicated the performance to his memory

Game 29: Raptors at Jazz!!

Happy Holidays!! It's becoming an annual tradition that the Raptors go on a lengthy roadtrip around Christmas as their home the ACC is hosting the World Juniors Of Hockey this time of year. Raptors' first stop is Utah to take on the Jazz.

  • The Jazz are a different team from the one that the Raptors saw last year, and they beat us once last year. The Jazz have added a few significant pieces in Joe Johnson, former Spur Boris Diaw and point guard George Hill who the Raptors remember from the Indiana series last year
  • It seems Utah are dealing with some injuries as the aforementioned Hill is out tonight. Also on the sides will be Dante Exum and Alex Burks. Rodney Hood will be a game time decision with gastric distress....err gross.
  • There's talk of Jared Sullinger being seen without his walking boot lately, but that shouldn't be news to get too excited over. He's still estimated to be out for about a month, then fitting him into the current rotation will be a tough task for Coach Casey.

Tonight's Raptor Track!

Emarosa - "Utah"

A hardcore band from Kentucky, Emarosa got their start in 2007 and after a few line-up and style changes began leaning more on the rock side of the genre. Their debut EP This Is Your Way Out was one of their only hardcore offerings and it's where you'll find tonight's Raptor Track "Utah"
