Game 64: Rockets at Raptors!

Look at that picture. Goddamn...how lucky are we to have a player like DeMar DeRozan? He has been on fire lately and recently named Eastern Conference player of the week for like the 1 millionth time in his career. In what is turning out to be one of the most hyped games of the season the Rockets are in town as the 2 top teams in their respective conferences collide tonight at the ACC! Find your seats folks...this is gonna be good!

  • Raptors became the first team in the NBA to clench a 2018 playoff spot with their huge win over the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday! 5th straight year of Playoff basketball in Toronto!
  • Last time these two teams met the Rockets didn't have Chris Paul and the Raptors came away with a big victory. James Harden has been playing incredible basketball and Paul is in tonight. Need everything from everyone as far as Toronto is concered
  • OG & Delon likely out for T.O. Out for sure for Houston are Brandan Wright and Ryan Anderson. Joe Johnson and Clint Capela will be game time decisions.
  • It is also Drake Night! The ACC should be off the hizzy

KISS - "Rocket Ride"

I am not the biggest Kiss fan. In fact I feel they are quite over rated. Alot of flash and no substance, but they do have a few good tracks. "Beth" comes to mind, "Black Diamond" and this one "Rocket Ride". Here it is from Alive II released in 1977. Oh and in this case Rocket means dick.

The Rocket

This is a nice slushy cocktail with vodka, red Sour Puss, lemon and shredded ice. Looks delicious. Mike just give it a try tonight!

Game 13: Raptors at Rockets!

Would have been nice to get that W in Boston. Raptors fell to the Celtics by one point. It's not getting any easier for Toronto as they head down to the Lonestar State to face the Houston Rockets.

  • Norman Powell left the game on Sunday after colliding with Boston big man Aron Baynes. It's reported that he suffered a 'hip pointer' and may be out for the forseeable future.
  • Houston really did everything they could to build a championship team over the Summer. They traded Patrick Beverly, Sam Dekker and Lou Williams (Louuuu) to the Clippers for Chris Paul, even though he's only played one game for Houston this season so far and will miss tonights game.
  • Raptors will see a familiar face in PJ Tucker, who only played the final half of the year for the Raptors before his contract was up. He signed with Houston in the off-season. His defensive intensity is what is missed most. It's almost contagious. Maybe OG Anunoby can watch some of his tape and turn into that kind of player for the future

Herbie Hancock - "Rockit"

Herbie Hancock is a jazz pianist and virtually a legend in the field. He ventured away from jazz for the first time into a more post-modern direction with his 1983 album Future Shock. The album's big hit was "Rockit". Known most for it's music video which feature dancing, and walking automatons. It cleaned up at that year's MTV video awards where it picked up 5.

Mama Tried IPA

Coming from the Bazos Valley Brewing Company nestled about an hour away from Houston. Named after a Merle Haggard song, it's got an ABV of 6.6% and 55 IBUs. Described as crisp and smooth with a definitive backbone malt. It's been called one of Houston's best IPAs.

Game 37: Rockets at Raptors!

Tough overtime loss for Toronto last night. Still cannot shake the Bull bugaboo off their back. They home today to face the Houston Rockets

  • It has been reported that Patrick Patterson should be suiting up for the Raptors today. While he won't fix everything thats been ailing us, his energy and 3 point shooting has been sorely missed
  • Rockets big man Clint Capela is out of their lineup so Montrezl Harrell and Nene will be playing the centre roll for Houston
  • Raptors won the first meeting between these two teams, forcing Houston to turn the ball over 24 times and had 6 players in double figure scoring

Game 15: Raptors at Rockets!

Game 4 of the 5 game road trip is almost under way. The Raptors are hoping to get out with a winning record to dot hat they'll need to beat the Milwaukee Bucks this weekend and the Houston Rockets tonight.

  • Houston has made some big additions this season. After losing Dwight Howard to Atlanta Clint Capela has be awarded the starting center postition. But he's surrounded by some serious fire power. Ryan Anderson, Eric Gordon and Canadian Tyler Ennis are all new to the Rockets this year, along with James Harden who is now their one true point guard
  • The Rockets also have a new coach in Mike D'Antoni. Known for his offensive strategies he most recently coached the Lakers and the Knicks
  • Donatas Montejunas, JV's fellow Lithuanian countryman, had been holding out for a good offer from the Rockets as he is an RA this season. Today it was announced that Houston has pulled it's latest offer....which I guess means he's unrestricted now....we do need a 4 y'know....

Soul Coughing - "Houston"

From New York, New York Soul Coughing had most of their sunshine years in the 90's. Probably best known for the song "Super Bon Bon", this song is off their 1998 album El Oso. It's called "Houston" and it's today's Raptor Track
